Professional Possibilities

The Master in Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies (MEMI) focuses above all on scientific research.  In other words, students learn to:

  • Develop a thesis statement
  • Gather information about the current state of information / studies
  • Find primary resources
  • Analyze documents
  • Correlate questions with documents and link questions to each other
  • Compose and draft a long research paper
  • Present an oral summary

These qualities are necessary in order to continue post-graduate work and research, but they are also relevant for the exam to become a secondary-level educator (CAPES and agrégation).  These skills also allow access to careers focused on culture or cultural/historical heritage (archives, libraries, museums, etc.) or on communication (journalism).
